Description

“There have been great societies that did not use the wheel, but there have been no societies that did not tell stories.”
— Ursula K. LeGuin
Elephant Community Press offers project-based writing workshops that guide students through the entire process of writing and publication. From idea generation to drafting and revision, students develop the skills and confidence to see their projects through to completion.
In all of our workshops, students write for audiences of parents, peers and the community at large. By writing with real audiences in mind, and with the support and guidance to do so successfully, students will experience the power of publication and the magic of seeing their words, thoughts and ideas in print.
ECP workshops are structured to ensure that all students successfully complete the projects and reach their publication goals! All workshops are led by an experienced writing teacher and native English speaker.
In term-long workshops, students have their stories published in professionally designed paperback books that are sold to benefit our charity partners. These books are also available at the Hong Kong Public Library or can be ordered via the ECP website (www.elephantcommunitypress.com/books). The writing from holiday workshops is published in staple-bound anthologies for students to enjoy the other stories written by their peers and to serve as a keepsake for the student and their families.
